Split out of #12. The Cloud Storage scan counts more storage than the cloud charges, so the unique sizes shown, mostly outside the inventory, can be far more than deleting the records frees.

Evidence

  • 2026-10-07, in-game scan with 0.7.14: 642 items take 1.9 GB, 480 of them outside the inventory; the cloud reports 1004 MB used.
  • The same account before the owner search: 162 inventory items took 734 MB, against 1.0 GB reported.
  • 2026-09-25, before any of this: 3057 items took 41.1 GB, against 36.8 GB reported.

So the scan overcounts even within the inventory, and much more once sent items are included.

Leads, unverified

  • GET users/{ownerId}/assets/{hash} returns an AssetInfo with Free, UploaderUserId and CountsAgainstMemberQuota. It may tell per asset whether this user is charged for it.
  • Sent items such as avatars may share assets that another user uploaded first.

Plan

  • Sample assets from records outside the inventory and from the inventory, and compare their AssetInfo against what the cloud charges.
  • If a field explains the gap, count only charged assets in the breakdown, and check the totals against the reported usage.
